Monofónicos is an electronica netlabel based in Medellin, Colombia. They feature over 20 local artists and distribute their music for free over the internet. At times experimental and at times uptempo, they’ve consistently released interesting work.
I’ve featured some of their tracks in earlier podcast episodes: for example, Vandelklang in episode 71.
Anyway, I got notified about a new EP — “Memorias” — released by an artist known as Galería Disco. Actually, this artist is a duo: Mateo Callejas and José Giraldo. The result? Three upbeat and pleasurable electronica tracks that you can enjoy even if you normally listen to downtempo most of the time and like slow beats.
Galería Disco released another EP on Monofónicos in 2012 called “Tenue” with six equally chilled uptempo tracks, including a remix from Vandelklang. Give them both a listen, and enjoy!
